Abstract
Polio, a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to permanent disability and even death, continues to pose a significant public health challenge in Pakistan. The country remains one of the few in the world where polio transmission is still a concern. A closer look at the reported cases from 2019 to 2024 reveals both progress and worrying trends, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), a province that has consistently reported the heaviest burden of this disease.
